Based on info from your fantastic site I have decided to replace my 1″ pleated filters with the Boair 5-stage electrostatic filter for lower long term cost. However, I’m wondering if there is any net benefit in using a thicker filter, e.g. less frequent cleaning vs more resistance. I asked the question on riteair.com and called and spoke to their call taker, but no one ever responded so I’m hoping you can enlighten me.
I could go up to 5″ with some minor tweaking.
